From My House to Yours
2002
2002
'Twas the week before Christmas and what do I see
There's only one present sitting under the tree
It's from the work grab bag so what do I know
I better get shopping despite cold and snow
The stockings aren't hung by the chimney with care
Because in the process of remodeling the mantle isn't there
And New Year's Eve is coming, a party is planned
With coats going in the bedrooms I need a moving van
Back and forth to work I carry the cards I want to send
But without writing them first what will be their end
So friends and family I want you to know
I'm copping out and this is my greeting on the go
We're in the electronics age so what better way
To tell you how much you mean to me each day
Some of you I hardly see or talk to very much
And many times I wish that I could just reach out and touch
The year has been a busy one just like all the rest
I've accomplished a lot and I'm very impressed
I went skiing in Maine then saw Holland from a bike
Family vacation at the beach, camping and hikes
But I've been more reflective than ever before
It must be my age and events that opened that door
We're not here forever and what once seemed far away
Has crept here so quickly and is in my doorway
So I want you to know before I get too busy and forget
You're the reason I'm me and I owe you a debt
You have touched me by your presence and helped me to grow
I hope that I am someone you are glad to know
So I am sending you my message at the close of this year
Whatever you are celebrating let's give a loud cheer
We are fortunate to be here and have the chance to love and sing
May your next year be wonderful in everything it brings
May your next year be wonderful in everything it brings
Happy Holidays
