The holiday season is once again here
It seems to come faster and sooner each year
But this time I’m early at the gate
This is the season I won’t be late
So my poor readers since I have time
I’m going to tell you my year in rhyme
Really this is so I can keep track
Do you need to know I’m on my Mac?
January
January started off kind of slow
No cross country skiing without any snow
February
A trip to OG to see Greta and the boys
They got so big and don’t play with toys
A camp reunion in Boston was my next event
Laura, Nadine and the new owners went
We tried Blue Apron and made some new meals
But it took so much work it wasn’t such a deal
I found an old tape about Bisque & Brush
You can watch it here and I’ll try not to blush
The kitchen update was a nice cosmetic
All new appliances but none were magnetic
March
We had a massive wind storm, trees down all around
No power, no heat, but we were southbound
Got out before the blizzard thanks to a changed flight
Instead of Tuesday morning we left Monday night
Our beach vacation was great fun
Had family visits and lots of sun
April
Then off to Barcelona on a transatlantic cruise
The seas were calm and there was plenty of booze
Morocco and Canary Islands were on the next trip
Camel rides, more tours but still on the same ship
Back to Barcelona for a few days
We loved it so much and wanted to stay
May
Mother’s Day weekend at Greta’s for me
Larry went to college graduation, congrats to Katie
June
The water was real high in the bay, river and lake
I planted herbs for food I was thinking I’d make
Went to Greta’s for a week to stay with the kids
Chauffeured them to lacrosse games was what I did
July
4th of July on the Cape with Mike and Dor
Yoga on the beach and fun galore
August
Now it was time, the big day was here
I got a new hip but there was nothing to fear
Binge watched all my favorite shows on TV
While elevating, taking pills and doing PT
September
Our friends from Ohio came to stay
We went out for lunch on my birthday
October
Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head and Wadmalaw too
We went to Edisto Serpentarium but not a zoo
November
Walked all over Lisbon and then home on a ship
Boy am I glad I got a new hip
December
This rhyme and year are coming to an end
Do you wish I didn’t have so much time to spend?
So let me make it short and sweet
You all make our lives complete
A joyful holiday season is our wish for you
With health and laughter all the years through
